Andrew Braybrook’s classic C64 shooter was a groundbreaking game for many reasons, but not many people know that it was the first game about being bitter and cynical! Video games are art, etc.
Anyone remember developer diaries? They were things where the developer wrote about making the game in a games magazine – without a PR person in between the creator and editor. CRAZY TIMES!
The Amiga version was OK I guess.

I loved this game. Still do, but can’t find a tidy emulator that wwill let me play it properly.
I think I remember finishuing it.
Do you remember one of the droids was a dalek?
They shoudl remake this in 3d.
One of the droids was a Dalek?! That’s AWESOME, I had no idea! I was never good enough to finish it, that mini game always got the best of me.
Yeah I’m surprised this concept hasn’t been taken further with modern systems…I seem to remember Shiny’s Messiah having a similar conceit. Now that I think about it the new Driver has a similar “take over control of any vehicle” concept, but it’s not really the same.
