OK I have to admit I was never really much of a Tow Jam And Earl player – beyond the ’90s hip-MTV-to-the-extreme presentation it just seemed like it was another 2D maze exploration game and I’d already had enough of them with Zombies Ate My Neighbours.
Still! I can’t help but like these guys, and feel a certain kinship with them as they’re permanently stuck in the ’90s. Makes the video game character get-togethers a bit weird, though.
I bet Pitfall Harry can’t get an invite either!
“Sorry Mister Harry, we already have Nathan Drake sitting in your seat”
Toejam & Earl was awesome, though. One of the best (and possibly underappreciated) old-school co-op games out there, despite the cheesy rap and 80’s style.
Never played the Xbox remake/reimagining/whatever, though. Or the sequel…. much…. either.
I feel sad now. ToeJam & Earl is not my favorite game, but they still an awesome part of classic era.
With all the 90’s era retro remakes that are going on at the moment, it’s only a matter of time before these guys will be back… 🙂
