To celebrate August being C64 Month, we’re writing about a different Commodore 64 game every day! Start from the beginning here!
E-Motion is a weird game. It’s like…what if you took Asteroids and Snooker and stuck them together, but you never actually played Asteroids or Snooker so you don’t really know what they’re supposed to feel like, and for some reason you thought it would be neat if it was also a puzzle game of sorts.
However, I think it’s an interesting game to play, at least for a while. I never worried too much about playing the game properly and instead spent most of my time just faffing about with making balls hit each other and seeing what would happen. It was fun! You can also try and play the game properly by dragging identically-coloured balls into each other to make them disappear and clearing the level but to be honest the game’s only really fun when things go wrong and you have a big mess of differently coloured balls to clean up. Story of my life, really.
I think something like this would do well on mobile these days, but in the meantime E-Motion is another good reason to dig out your trusty Commodore 64 (or fire up a handy-dandy emulator) and have a pretty good time. And that’s what C64 gaming is all about!
